Tips to choose your board?
Hello everyone, today i will like to help you to choose your board…
The first basic rule is that the heavier the rider is the board should have more volume and should be wider, to promote the stability. Is the rider is smaller it may even be very large. Be careful if you choose a board with more volume than you should, you will be carrying extra weight.
There are 4 general categories of SUP boards, these categories are based on the type of activity for which they will be used: Surf, Allround, Inflatables and Racing/Touring.
SUP Surf: They are generally shorter, with the nose and tail narrower and with more rocker. These qualities make the board more manageable in the wave.
SUP Allround: These kinds of boards are been created to be ride in all conditions. They are very versatile and they are perfect as a first board because they’re very stable, and at the same time maintain a good slide. Ideal for paddling in calm waters but also you can use for surf your first waves.
SUP Race/Touring: The race boards are the fastest one, and also the difficult ones to keep the balance. The touring ones are really similar but the races one are narrower so that they have better sliding, which is equivalent to a higher speed. I don’t recommend race board for a beginner.
SUP Inflatables: The best board you can have if you have space problems or you want to take to a travel. You can find all the styles of inflatables board.
Hope i help you to choose your kind of board.
Thanks,
Jose Maria.
Me ha resultado muy útil esta presentación de los tipos de tablas dentro del Stand Up Paddle. Una buena orientación como punto de partida
